THE GREAT NOVEMBER FABRIC EXCURSION - Was Epic!

On Saturday I met up with some fabulous bloggers almost all that I had met before. Steph, Santie, Claire, Dibs But also some new faces. I was pleased to meet Alana and Nikki for the first time too!
I was also thrilled for Dibs who as you can see here is waiting for her lovely little boy to come!
We hit the fabric shops straight away but most of us were pretty restrained up until after lunch.
Goldhawk Road did not disappoint as usual and we had a great time not leaving until it was dark! Of course laden with fabric!
Claire was also kind enough to give me this cute little tin and a multi coloured pencil for pattern drafting!
So what did I buy? I have to admit I could have bought a lot more! I had a plan and I pretty much stuck to it but I didn't even get everything on my list.
This cotton is for a wrap dress
This cotton is for an unidentified christmas present.
I think me, Steph and Dibs all bought this cotton sateen. Its so fabulous!
This poly was the bargain of the day. Just £1.25 per metre!
I had my eye on this linen last time I went to Goldhawk road and so I had to get it the next time around!
My favourite thing of the day however was this awesome lobster print that I'm going to turn into a shirt dress!
I had such a brilliant time and I can't wait to do a bigger outing again soon!

  4. I agree, it was a brilliant day and I'm glad to have met you all. I still want that first fabric you bought, I love that, but had to be careful what I was buying. As for the bargain polycotton, yep, that was a dream too!!

  5. Nikki I think she bought that before we had lunch, so you were probably being more careful...not so much after the cocktails...hihiihihi...did you have a cocktail?
Stevie thanks for organising, it was so much fun.

  9. I went to the last Goldhawk meet-up and I'm so gutted that I couldn't make this one! Looks like you all had fun! I've seen the divine lobster print fabric on various blogs before and have lusted after it. Do you happen to remember which shop you got it from and how much it was? I'm going to see if I can pull some strings to get some you see ;o) Many thanks!

  10. I'm gutted I couldn't come to this! I love all those fabrics. I can't even go and buy any now with the seamless pledge ongoing! (Snoopers, though, that is totally allowed...) That lobster print is amazing - I can't wait to see what you do with it. The purple and yellow linen is gorgeous too. Do you have plans for that?

  11. @Marie, it was in the second shop on the left side of the road can't remember the name though! It cost me £13 for 3 meters,
@Julia, the linen is totally amazing and I'm pleased I got it but I haven't got any immediate plans for it, I did think about a Colette parfait but the matching could take me a while. Your very brave taking the pledge. I am super aware of how I consume as we talk and debate about it frequently on my uni course (fashion history) I think sewing can help but I can understand how hard it can be to not buy! Good luck!
